STPA 2007 - Getting Here

The conference will be taking place at NYU’s Kimmel Center, located at 60 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012, on the south side of the park. The main NYU campus is located around at Washington Square Park on the island and borough of Manhattan in Greenwich Village neighborhood. Below are directions for getting to NYU and links to useful maps.

By Plane

There are three major airports serving New York City - La Guardia (LGA), Kennedy (JFK), or Newark (EWR) airports. From the airport you have a number of options to get into the city including private shuttle buses, taxis, car services, or public transit.

If you take a shuttle bus, you will want to go to Port Authority Bus Terminal or Grand Central Station. From Port Authority, take the A or E subway downtown to West Fourth Street-Washington Square Station, or from Grand Central, take the Lexington Avenue subway (No. 6 train) downtown to Astor Place Station.

Cabs are available at all airports and, even though they cost more, they are your best bet if you have a lot of luggage. Plan on spending at least $35 to $50 depending on the airport and time of day. At the airport, only take official yellow taxis from taxi stands – drivers offering you a ride inside the airport are operating illegal and unregulated services and may significantly overcharge you.

To arrange a car service in advance, call CARmel at 900-9CARMEL, Dial7 at 212-777-777, or one of the dozens of other car services available. Your hotel can also arrange a car service for you in advance.

For public transit, click on the links to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority or New Jersey Transit below to see public bus and subway alternatives to get into Manhattan.
